Studio Highlights – January 2023

January was a pretty busy month for me! I got to work with so many cute kiddos, and there were a lot of different cake smash themes going on. Here’s a roundup of my studio work from the month!

Winnie The Pooh Cake Smash

I’ve learned some new techniques for creating props recently, and this Winnie The Pooh themed set was one of the first times I got to really use them! Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet were all created from scratch and I think they look great in the background. Mr. J was so cute and really went to town on the smash cake (made to look like a pot of honey!)

Valentine’s Day Mini Sessions

I had my valentine’s day mini sessions this month! For the backdrop, I decided to go with a beautiful, deep red wainscoting. My partner created a balloon garland and I added a handful of small props – I like to keep Valentine’s Day minis pretty simple and affordable, since they happen so soon after the holidays.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out!

Under The Sea Cake Smash

When Mom contacted me for this session, she asked for “Something with teal, pink, purple and gray. A mix of dark and pastel colours”. We chose a backdrop from my collection that looks like the ocean floor, and it worked perfectly! This just goes to show that even if you choose my basic collection, the final result will still look great.

Miss S was so easy to work with. Doesn’t she have the cutest smile?

Elegant Green and Gold Cake Smash

Struggling to pick a theme for your child’s cake smash? You’re not alone – it’s pretty hard! The good news is that if you can’t think of something elaborate and themed, you can just go with a colour scheme. Her mom asked for green and gold here and sent me a photo of the dress from home she wanted to incorporate. I added some florals and a small balloon garland and the result is really beautiful and elegant.
